Gatlinburg
TN October Fall Events
With October comes 2
great events to Gatlinburg TN this year – fall
foliage and the Craftsmen’s Fair.
The warm, sunny days of September give way to cooler temperatures
mixed with—hopefully--adequate rain to assist Mother
Nature as she empties her paint buckets of color on the once
lush green forests to form a brilliant display of autumn
color.
Beginning
with the mountain peaks early in October the cool temperatures
remove the
green chlorophyll to expose
the brilliant colors underneath and gradually move down
the mountainsides to include the lower elevations on into
early
November, Gatlinburg’s mountains are alive with color!
Gatlinburg TN locals and storekeepers work together to
match the beauty of the foliage and offer the expectant
visitor
elaborate storefront decorations and harvest displays.
This time of year also brings on the million light displays
for
evening enjoyment.
In
October, for 2 weeks, the award-winning Gatlinburg
Tennessee Craftsmen’s
Fair opens its doors at the Gatlinburg Convention Center.
This great craft event attracts some of
the country’s finest craftsmen. The event has become
so appealing and well known that, for the 7th year in a
row, it‘s recognized by the Southeast Tourism Society
as a “Top 20” Event in the Southeastern US.
More than 170 booths offer samples of art, crafts, and
music.
The artisans and crafts people are on-hand to demonstrate
their skills, answer questions, and to offer their unique
works for sale.
If you are planning a
trip to the mountains, consider the fall season and its
great selection of things
and events
to make your Smoky Mountain vacation in Gatlinburg,
Tennessee a memorable one.
